We are proud that EMKY aesthetics is unique and every frame is the only one in the world.
In each of the EMKY models manufactured from the selected wood species, individual units differ from each other, characterised by an irreplaceable colour and different irregularities of the grain. The final, unique design of the frame depends on the conditions of growth of the tree or the region of its origin. Used for the production of frames, selected, seasoned, and hand-formed natural wood comes exclusively from local suppliers certified by FSC.

No part of the bicycle’s design was left untouched, from head to toe. From the tapered head tube to the dropouts. We blend the beauty of natural wood with the elegance of deep glossy black, to preserve a clean form and always up-to-date, minimalist aesthetics.

ALUMINIUM ALLOY 7020

To produce our frames we only use aluminium alloy 7020. Compared to aluminium 6061, widely used to produce bicycle frames, grade 7020 is characterised by higher fatigue limit and achieves significantly higher values of tensile strength.
Aluminium treatment operations are performed by highly-qualified specialists with modern CNC equipment, based on the design made in 3D technology. Frames are welded with TIG method and the welds are sanded and smoothed manually.

HIGHEST QUALITY TOPCOAT

All bicycle frames manufactured by EMKY are covered with a layer of premium liquid top-coat with high gloss. It creates a protective coating with an appropriate degree of elasticity, properly protecting the frame from all external factors. This coating, in addition to perfect protective properties, also provides excellent aesthetic qualities.
Moreover, during the entire period of use, by using all public services of paint coating correction, the owner of the bike has the ability to restore the original glow and depth of the coating as well as the original appearance of the frame with traces of daily operation, even after many years of use.

INNER PART OF THE SEAT TUBE MADE OF CARBON

This solution eliminates the need to cut the seat tube, thus avoiding the risk of the frame breaking in the future around the location of the seatpost clamps. At the same time, there is no risk of damaging the paint coating here, as in our frames the seatpost clamps are mounted directly on an uncoated carbon part of the tube. The inner part of the carbon tube also dampens the vibrations produced when riding, just like commonly used carbon forks do.

SLIDING AND OPENING EMKY DROPOUTS

By equipping our frames with sliding and opening dropouts, designed in EMKY and made in CNC technology, we can maintain clean and minimalist aesthetics in the belt drive frame due to the intact design of the chainstays and seatstays. Our horizontal sliding dropouts with built-in tensioners facilitate effortless belt installation and replacement, and assure efficient tensioning adjustment by precise movements of the rear wheel.

TAPERED HEAD TUBE

The combination of a tapered head tube made using CNC technology with a carbon fork and a rigid front wheel axle translates directly into the rigidity of the frameset. This configuration of components ensures optimal responsiveness of the bike, which positively affects the precision and confidence of riding the bike in all conditions.

INTERNAL CABLE ROUTING SYSTEM

For reasons of aesthetics and practicality, this solution is used in all EMKY bicycles. Internal routing and full protection shell on the whole length of the cable allows to protect it against mechanical damage and external conditions.

LOCAL PRODUCTION

As a manufactory, we perform most production processes locally, so we have full control over the entire manufacturing process, both in terms of quality of workmanship and compliance with applicable standards.

Processes executed locally:
• the design of the bicycle and its carbon elements,
• production and processing of aluminium frames and carbon elements,
• natural wood processing (originating only from local FSC certified suppliers),
• frame coating,
• complete wheel assembly,
• final assembly of the complete bicycle.
